Seeking God for Joy

Seeking God for Joy

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Psalm 105:3

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33

True joy isn’t based on what’s happening around us—it’s rooted in the presence of God. When we
genuinely seek Him, we encounter a joy that strengthens us, even in life’s hardest moments. This
joy isn’t temporary or shallow; it’s a deep, sustaining assurance that God is with us, working all
things for our good.

Seeking God means intentionally making Him our priority—through prayer, worship, and time in His
Word. As we do, our perspective shifts. We stop chasing temporary satisfaction and begin
experiencing lasting peace and contentment. In His presence, fear loses its grip, and joy begins to
overflow from within.

Joy becomes a lifestyle when we center our hearts on God. It doesn’t mean we won’t face
challenges, but it means we face them with hope and confidence. When we seek God first, He fills
us with a joy the world cannot give—and cannot take away. Choose today to seek Him above all,
and let His joy be your strength.

Prayer

Father, today I choose to seek You above all else. Help me to keep my heart focused on Your kingdom
and Your righteousness. Fill me with the joy that comes from being in Your presence. No matter what I
face today, may my heart rejoice in You. Let my life reflect the joy that comes from knowing You and
walking in Your ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

“Today, I choose to seek God first. His presence fills me with joy, peace, and strength. My heart is
