Grace to Forgive and Move Forward
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as
the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you
Matthew 6:14
Forgiveness is never easy, but it is essential to spiritual growth and peace. The grace of God empowers us
to do what the flesh resists—release the offense and move forward in freedom. Forgiveness is not about
forgetting or excusing wrongs; it’s about choosing healing over bitterness. When we hold onto grudges,
we become bound by the very hurt we hope to escape.
Grace gives us the courage to face pain, surrender it to God, and embrace restoration. Sometimes, the
hardest person to forgive is ourselves. But as we forgive others and ourselves, we position our hearts to
walk in peace, maturity, and purpose.
Moving forward does not mean pretending the past didn’t happen; it means choosing not to be defined
by it. God’s grace is powerful enough to heal wounds, restore relationships, and renew our joy.
Prayer
Gracious Father, thank You for the gift of forgiveness and the grace that empowers me to let go. Today, I
surrender every offense, every wound, and every hurt into Your hands. Help me to forgive others as You
have forgiven me. Where there is bitterness, plant healing. Where there is pain, let Your peace reign. I
also receive Your grace to forgive myself for my past mistakes. Let Your love cleanse my heart and renew
my mind so I can move forward with confidence and purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
