A Joyful Heart is Good Medicine

A Joyful Heart is Good Medicine

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22 (ESV)

Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

Joy is more than an emotion—it is a spiritual force that brings healing, strength, and renewal. It has
the power to heal and sustain us, while a heavy heart can weaken us physically, emotionally, and
spiritually. The enemy seeks to steal our joy because when our joy is depleted, our strength
diminishes as well.

When we focus on God’s goodness, meditate on His promises, and rejoice in His presence, we
receive the medicine our souls need. Even in trials, we can choose joy because our faith rests in a
God who never fails. A heart filled with joy is a heart that trusts in the Lord, and that trust becomes
the foundation for lasting peace and strength.

Prayer

Father, I thank You for the joy that comes from Your presence. Fill my heart with divine joy that
strengthens and renews me. Help me to trust in Your goodness and not be overwhelmed by life’s
circumstances. Let Your joy be my medicine, bringing healing to my soul, body, and spirit. I choose to
rejoice today, knowing that You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

” Today, I choose joy! The joy of the Lord is my strength, bringing healing and life to my soul. In Jesus’
name, Amen!”
