Beholding God’s Glory

For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light
of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 (NIV)
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one
and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (NIV)
To behold God’s glory is to see with spiritual eyes the majesty, beauty, and character of God revealed
through Jesus Christ. His glory is not merely a dazzling light or distant presence—it is His nature made
known to us in grace and truth. When John testified, “We have seen His glory,” he spoke of the living,
breathing presence of God dwelling among men. This glory is not hidden—it is unveiled for those who
are willing to look beyond the natural and seek Him with spiritual hunger.
In every season of life, from the mountaintops of joy to the valleys of uncertainty, the glory of God can
still be seen if our hearts remain open and fixed on Christ. Just as light was commanded to shine out of
darkness at creation, God has illuminated our hearts to see His glory in the face of Jesus. When we
behold His glory, we are not left unchanged. It transforms our thinking, purifies our desires, and realigns
our perspective with heaven’s purpose.
To behold is to pause, to gaze, and to remain in wonder. In Christ, we not only witness God’s glory; we
are drawn into it, shaped by it, and sent to reflect it. In every season—be it silence, waiting, celebration,
or hardship—His glory is still present, still powerful, and still beautiful in its time.
Prayer
Father, thank You for revealing Your glory to me through Jesus Christ. Open the eyes of my heart daily to
see You more clearly, love You more deeply, and reflect You more faithfully. Let the light of Your truth
dispel every darkness in me, and help me to live in awe of Your glory, even in the ordinary moments. May
I never lose the wonder of Your presence and the beauty of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
