God’s Power in Weakness

But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Many times, we see weakness as something to be ashamed of. We hide our struggles, fearing that they make us inadequate. But in God’s kingdom, weakness is not a limitation—it is an invitation for His power to be revealed in us.

Paul, a mighty apostle of God, had a weakness—a thorn in his flesh that he pleaded for God to
remove. Yet, instead of removing it, God assured him that His grace was sufficient. Why? Because human weakness creates space for divine strength. When we come to the end of ourselves, we discover the beginning of God’s limitless power. God does not abandon us when we feel frail or incapable. Instead, He steps in with His mighty power, giving us strength we could never find on our own.

Perhaps today you feel overwhelmed, weary, or inadequate. Remember, God’s power is at work in your weakness. He does not require you to be strong on your own—He asks you to lean on Him. Surrender your weakness, your doubts, and your struggles to Him, and watch how His power carries you through.

Prayer

Dear Father, thank You for reminding me that Your grace is sufficient in every situation. When I feel weak, discouraged, or incapable, help me to rely on Your power. Teach me to surrender my struggles to You and trust that Your strength will sustain me. May Your presence be my refuge and strength today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

“I declare that God’s power is working in my weakness. His strength is my portion, and I will not be overcome by fear or discouragement. His power is made perfect in me! Amen.”
